But Harry doesn't have time to worry long. He soon gets an invitation from his best-friend Ron Weasley to the Quidditch World Cup. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire also sees Harry attending his fourth year of wizard-school at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. While it's the usual fun with Ron, Hermione Granger and some less-than-inspiring Divination lessons, Harry's life is never boring. There is plenty of mystery, adventure and danger coming his way. Love is also rumoured to be in the air, with near-disastrous results! Rowling was a struggling single mother when she wrote the beginning of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, on scraps of paper at a local cafe. But her efforts soon paid off, as she received an unprecedented award from the Scottish Arts Council enabling her to finish the book. Since then, the debut novel has become an international phenomenon, garnering rave reviews and major awards, including the British Book Awards Chidren’s Book of the Year and the Smarties Prize. Ms. Rowling lives in Edinburgh with her daughter. Performer Bio: The New York Times hailed Jim Dale as "The Toast of Broadway" in his title role in the musical Barnum. He has a long list of credits on the stage and in film and was nominated for an Oscar for writing the lyrics for Georgy Girl. Reader Reviews Average Reader Review: Number of Reviews: 52 1. A mother's Opinion Reviewer: Belinda from BC Canada (binderella@telus.net) Date: 4/11/2001 6:13:50 AM With the Total Harry Potter Craze I decided to buy the books and put them away for my son, he's just a baby but I thought he might enjoy them when he gets older. One day after finishing the last book that I had for myself to read, I decided to see what all the Harry Potter fuss was about, and I was quite shocked. Within 3 days I had read all four books, and found them quite enjoyable, and almost impossible to put down, I've even been taking Harry Potter books to work with me! I can't wait until my son is old enough to enjoy these books, Ms. Rowling has a great imagination, and I suggest that other parents check Harry Potter out for yourselves.
